Your Faith.Forward! Assignment: Pray this week for our friends in Rwanda, specifically Pastor Muzigura and his congregation in Nyamata and Bishop Mugabo.
FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):
Share… One high and one low from your day.
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out for a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; and he set out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he stayed for a time in the land he had been promised, as in a foreign land, living in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he looked forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one person, and this one as good as dead, descendants were born, “as many as the stars of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.” (Hebrews 11:8-12)
Talk… Imagine you are Abraham and God calls you yo move away from your roots and home to an unfamiliar country with no job, no house, but only the promise that God would take care of you. What would you do? Why do you think Abraham did it? What did he know about God that created that faith? What does faith mean to you? What about God inspires faith in you?
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other by affirming one thing you like about the other person. Bless each other by making the sign of the cross on each person, saying: The LORD bless you and keep you.
