As we transition from our Kindness series into Christmas, your Plus 1 assignment is to practice kindness one more week: Choose one person (family member, friend, fellow student, co-worker) and do the following each day: 1) Refrain from saying anything negative about that person. 2) Find one thing you can affirm about that person or praise in that person and tell that person and one other person. 3) Do one act of kindness toward that person each day.
FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):
Share… 1 thing you appreciate about the other people on your FAITH5 huddle.
Read… Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. (Isaiah 1:18))
Talk… What does it mean that your sins will be like snow? Why snow? Look up scarlet. Look up crimson. What do those colors say about sin? What does it mean for God to forgive you?
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other by affirming one thing you like about the other person. Bless each other by making the sign of the cross on each person, saying: The LORD bless you and keep you.
