FAITH5 Plus 1 – 1/22/2017

Hey, Grace’rs,

Your Plus 1 assignment: Pray each night for our new President, our country, and our elected leaders. You might want to look up some of leaders (Senators, Congressional leaders, etc) and pray for them and send them an email saying you are praying for them. This would be great to do with the kids.

FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):

01ShareIcon Share… 1 high and 1 low. What are you thankful for? What didn’t go so well today?
02ReadIcon Read… Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and was quite unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your ailment.” When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured, and not on the sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to give it water? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the sabbath day?” When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame; and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things that he was doing. (Luke 13:10-17)
03TalkIcon Talk… about the verse in light of your high and low… in light of your day. What ailment do you want Jesus to lift from you? Free you from? What wonderful things is God doing in your life that you rejoice about?
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other with a word of affirmation. Make the sign of the cross on each other and say to each other: The LORD bless you and keep you.
