FAITH5 Plus 1 – 7/22/2018

Hey, Grace’rs,

Your Plus 1 assignment: Find one way to put love into action. (You might pray about it for a few days and see what ideas come to mind!)

FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):

01ShareIcon Share… One high and one low from your day.
02ReadIcon Read…

Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Love never dies. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a—The Message)

03TalkIcon Talk… Walk through this passage a couple of phrases each day. How do those phrases challenge you? Inspire you? Where do you see that kind of love in action. As you read through this poem, replace the word “love” with “Jesus.” How does that shape your understanding of Jesus? Love?
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other by affirming one thing you like about the other person. Bless each other by making the sign of the cross on each person, saying: The LORD bless you and keep you.
