FAITH5 Plus 1 – 8/26/2018

Hey, Grace’rs,

A reminder: This month we are focusing on the theme: Helping Homes Thrive. Every Monday you will be receiving a Helping Homes Thrive discussion starter for meal time. You may want to make that your FAITH5 experience (or you may want to do both).

Your Plus 1 assignment: As a household, find one “project” you’d like to focus on for the month of August. It may be cleaning out stuff and donating it to the West Valley Thrift Store. Or putting aside money each week to support a charitable cause you all vote on. Or you may want to do a search online for ideas.

FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):

01ShareIcon Share… One high and one low from your day.
02ReadIcon Read… (You might take turns with this one each time you read it…someone reads the first line and someone reads the response: His steadfast love endures forever.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who alone does great wonders,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who by understanding made the heavens,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who spread out the earth above the waters,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who made the great lights,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
the sun to rule over the day,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
the moon and stars to rule over the night,
for his steadfast love endures forever; (Psalm 136:1-9)

03TalkIcon Talk… What does steadfast mean? What does it say about God’s love for you that it endures forever? How does that steadfast love, shown through such power, shape they way you view yourself? God? Others? Life?
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other by affirming one thing you like about the other person. Bless each other by making the sign of the cross on each person, saying: The LORD bless you and keep you.
