We’re giving FAITH5 a small twist: FAITH5 plus 1. The plus 1 is a chance as individuals or as a family to perform a reckless act of grace throughout the week.
This week the plus 1 is to pray for your neighbors. Walk the neighborhood, drive it, run it, bike it, and as you do so, pray for the homes and those living in them.
Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):
Share… 1 high and 1 low.
Read… Then Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and press in on you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; for I noticed that power had gone out from me.” When the woman saw that she could not remain hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before him, she declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” (Luke 8:45-48)
Talk… about this passage in light of your day…your high and your low. What need moves you to reach out and touch Jesus? What do you want to ask of him tonight before you go to bed? Remind each other of the words of Jesus: go in peace.
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other with a word of affirmation. Make the sign of the cross on each other and say to each other: The LORD bless you and keep you.
