FAITH5 Plus 1 – Jan 1, 2017

Hey, Grace’rs,

Happy New Year!

Your Plus 1 assignment: For one day this week, practice saying nothing but nice things to the people you with whom you come into contact. Pick the day together, if doing this as a family, and report back at night on how you did!

FAITH5: Tonight and every night before you head to bed spend some time with those you love and do this faith-building experience together (or, do it alone as a time of before bed devotions, keeping a journal and recording the following as an act of prayer):

01ShareIcon Share… 1 high and 1 low. What are you thankful for? What didn’t go so well today?
02ReadIcon Read… This week take one of the four promises per night…repeat three of them for a total of 7.

God’s News Years Resolutions for You—2017

1) I will never leave you.

I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)

2) Nothing will ever stop me from loving you.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)

3) I will always have your back.

But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (Isaiah 43:1-3)

4) I will fill you to overflowing with life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:10-11)

03TalkIcon Talk… about what each promise means for you today.
Pray… for each other.
Bless… each other with a word of affirmation. Make the sign of the cross on each other and say to each other: The LORD bless you and keep you.
