Grace.Forward! – 8/15/19

Hey, Grace’rs,

Wow! What a great weekend of worship last weekend. It was good to see so many families back from vacation. And Alan, our pastoral guy director, was in the groove as he preached the message for us. You can watch it here.

This weekend we continue our new Series: Christianity 101, by asking the question: Why Christianity? What makes Christianity unique? What does it’s uniqueness mean for us? Families with last names starting with L-R have the food table this weekend.

In two weeks Jan and I celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary so we’ll look at what God says about marriage.

Coming Up:
Worship Weekends: Christianity 101
August 17/18: Why Christianity?
August 24/25: What Does God Say About Marriage? (Jan and I are celebrating our 40th anniversary that weekend!)
August 31/September 1: What is the Church and Why it Matters to God… and to You!

Tim’s Shoulder Surgery Update
I am coming up on 5 months since my shoulder surgery. While my recovery is going well I have an issue in the shoulder—a glitch that catches when I raise my arm. I have an MRI on Monday (and yes, I have to be heavily sedated!) with the follow up appointment the next day. Hopefully I just need a “clean up on aisle 5” on my shoulder and then back into strength training! Thanks for the continued prayers.

General Admission tickets ($5) will be available at Grace during weekend worship (Sat@5pm, Sun@8:45 & 10:15).

With the recent tragedies in our country, we’re reminded once again of how important it is to know how to help save the life of a severely wounded person. The only thing more tragic than a death from bleeding… is a death that could have been prevented.

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action, and our own Laura & Jason Wright are certified Stop the Bleed trainers. They will be teaching a Stop the Bleed class on Tuesday, August 27 @6 PM to train, equip, and empower bystanders to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives

This class is open to the public, but you’ll need to register so we can be sure that there are enough materials for all. Sign up at the Info Table or at www.BoldRecklessGrace.org

A rite of passage program for Jr High girls and their moms, starting in September.
