Continuing the Project

For the Good 2.0!
A Continuing of Bold, Reckless Grace

February 16, we ceremonially turned on the power to our new solar panels. Launched last March, For the Good was a campaign aimed at raising $220,000 over the course of a year to fund those solar panels. They are up a running a month ahead of schedule thanks to your response to this project.

Not only will these solar panels be good for our planet, they will also be good for our budget, saving us a significant amount of money each year.

And the campaign also enables us to do some important mission work—donating a car to Pastor Eddy in Rwanda being one of the outcomes.

As I retire from being your Pastor over these last 20 years, I’d like to initiate one last project—to help encourage Pastor Josh and our congregation as we move into this new era of mission and ministry.

Consider it For the Good! 2.0, a giving goal designed once again to benefit mission, the planet, and our ministry.

Our campus is turning 15 at the end of the year and is showing some wear and tear.

Two items in particular have my attention:

  • Our children’s play area on the west side of the building needs to be replaced. It has some issues that can’t be fixed and is no longer safe for our kids. It would be a good show of faith to our families if we were to provide a safe upgrade.
  • The grassy areas on the east side of the worship center are lost to us and can’t be revived. Essentially, to keep the trees watered, we are watering mud. We’d like to replace the first half of the now dead grassy area with DG and the now dead grassy area along the east side of the worship center with turf. This will save us on water bills and maintenance and will certainly beautify the area.

Here’s the invitation:

To raise $110,000 to be used as follows:

The first $10,000 will go to mission as designated by the staff.

The next $30,000 will be used to put in a new kid’s playground.

The final $70,000 will be used to beautify the east side of the campus.

As you can see, this is half of the amount we raised the last 12 months.

If you’d like to continue your For the Good! commitment by recommitting to For the Good! 2.0 for another 12 months, or make a one-time gift, we will set aside the money, and as it becomes available the staff will act on these priorities.

Some have been asking how you might honor me as I retire. This is what would honor me the most—investing in the mission that has meant so much to me, to you, to the thousands who over the last 20 years have experienced the bold, reckless grace of Jesus, and to the thousands more who will hear about Jesus in the years to come.

(One caveat: If you’d like to participate, please do so over and above your regular giving/in addition to your regular giving. Meeting the on-going budget is our first priority always.)

If you’d like to make a commitment to help us with our planning, you can email operations@boldrecklessgrace.org.

In the subject line write: For the Good! 2.0 and in the message let Jeff know how much you want to commit over this next 12 months. Jeff will respond with an email letting you know exactly how to designate that particular commitment.

I won’t be around to see this new project (although I can always sneak over during the week and take a look!). But you, your friends and family, and the new people who visit and become engaged with our mission, will!

Thanks for your consideration.

A reminder: My last Sunday is March 30. It’s also our 20th Anniversary as a congregation. I’ll be preaching at both services and we’ll have a party on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 pm.

In the service of the One who graces us all,

Pastor Tim

OCTOBER 2026

Ways to Give a Generous Gift

All of us can be a part of this big celebration.

Every gift matters. Every contribution makes a difference.

(Reminder: This gift is in addition to your ongoing support of our daily mission. If we
all were to split our giving we’d end up with solar panels but no ministry!)

Here are some practical ways you can be a part of this 20th Anniversary Adventure:

          1) Skip one cup of coffee a week and donate that to this project.
Or—give up your daily coffee run for one month or more.

(The average American spends $1,100 a year on Starbucks. And that doesn’t include other coffee-type
              places.)

          2) Cut out one streaming service for the next year.
(The average family spends at least $75 per month on streaming services.)

          3) Gift stock.

          4) Cut your vacation by one day and give what you’d save that
               day to For the Good!

          5) Skip one restaurant/fast food meal a week.

(The average American family spends 10% of their annual income on fast food.)

          6) Set aside $1 a day for the next 365 days.

          7) Skip that Virgin Atlantic trip to outer space this year.

(Average price about $450,000!)

          8) Drink only water at restaurants.
Calculate what you save each time and donate it.

          9) Ask God what God would have you give.
Then watch how God provides through you.
